Monster is by far the best one, it simply exceeds in storytelling and does everything it tries to do masterfully. Quality-wise I think that is not even a fair comparison, Monster is a masterfully written psychological and mystery story that discuss the very concept of humanity.Death Note, on the other hand, is not bad at all, but it's just a standard mind game series with nice soundtrack.
